Man charged with Kendal burglary

Detectives from Westmorland and Furness’s Community and Serious Organised Crime (CSOC) Unit have charged a man with burglary following an incident in Kendal this summer. Sean Devaney, aged 63, of Boroughbridge Road, North Yorkshire has been charged with burglary following a report of a break in at a property in Kendal between 23 June and 3 July 2025, where jewellery was stolen. Devaney is due to appear before South Cumbria Magistrates Court today (29 September). This is being investigated under Operation Themis – Cumbria Constabulary’s response to and focus on burglaries.
