Arrests for drug driving and shop theft in Kendal

Officers arrested three on suspicion of offences including drug driving and shoplifting yesterday (8 Oct) in Kendal. Police stopped a vehicle at Sainsbury’s in Shap Road at around 9.40pm. Inside the vehicle they recovered a large amount of meat and other products. The driver was subject to a drugs wipe, which they failed for cocaine. The three occupants of the vehicle – two men and a woman – were arrested on suspicion of theft from a shop. The driver was further arrested for drug driving. All three remain in police custody this afternoon (9 Oct).
